Documentary Screening on Seletar Issues
Peoples Documentary is in the process of finalizing a documentary series on issues faced by the Seletar Orang Asli of Johore Straits. We welcome any organization or individual who are interested to organize a screening and talks on this documentary called: The Sea Gypsies who are losing their sea.

海上吉普赛纪录片放映会
人民记录电影于今年年初开始拍摄的《丧失大海的海上吉普赛》柔佛原住民课题纪录片系列已几近完成，并汇集成一部50分钟左右的长片。我们欢迎任何有兴趣和组织或个人，包括大专院校，青年组织，宗教团体，学校等等，和我们联办有关的纪录片放映会和讲解会；以便加深对柔佛海峡Seletar族原住民课题的认识。
硕果仅存的Seletar原住民集中居住在柔佛海峡一带，他们落户的年代更早于柔佛州苏丹皇朝；是西马原住民中少数靠海为生的族群，他们的足迹甚至遍布新加坡。
1970年代，这一批常年在海上漂流的原住民开始被政府鼓励定居。虽然如此，绝大部分族人依然完全依靠大海为生。直到90年代末，当金海湾一带的填海工程开始摧毁他们的红树林和海床，导致许多渔民被逼放弃生计。
如今，如火如荼的填海工程和相关的依斯干达发展计划更是对他们长久定居的土地虎视眈眈。这批海上吉普赛面临另一次的逼迁行动，并且很可能将丧失他们赖以为生的大海，从此颠沛流离，甚至面临文化传承无以为继的境地。
